Breaking and Entering at EK Market on Springmill Road

There was a breaking and entering at the EK Market this morning at 1:44 a.m. located at 929 Springmill Road, Mansfield, Ohio.

The Sheriff’s 911 dispatch received an alarm at that location and a caller also observed two subjects running south on Fairfax Avenue, then lost sight of them at about the same time of the alarm. Deputies responded, checked the area, and could not locate the subjects at that time. Deputies talked with witnesses and the store owner and viewed the store video, which showed three subjects who broke into the market.

Shortly afterwards, deputies made contact with three subjects on Trimble road near Moritz Concrete that matched the description of the subjects in the video. Deputies talked with the subjects and they were transported back to the scene. On the way back to the market, deputies discovered further information that these were the same subjects involved in the break in.

The subjects involved are juveniles and were transported on station and interviewed after their parents arrived on station. The juveniles were released to their parents after the interviews.

Deputies took photos of the scene and evidence was collected. The video from EK market will also be submitted as evidence.

This case will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
