Ohio No Longer Taxing Glasses Or Corrective Lenses

Eye glasses and contact lenses are no longer being taxed in Ohio. The change was made two-years ago and finally goes into effect today, after a bill was passed that says eye wear is a medical device. Hearing aides, prescription drugs and other medical supplies already aren't taxed in the state. The state's Legislative Service Commission Director says the state will lose up almost 100-million dollars in tax revenue in the next two-years due to the change.
