National Weather Service Confirms 21 Tornado's Hit Ohio Memorial Day
The National Weather Service says they have completed their survey and are confirming that 21 tornadoes hit Central Ohio and the surrounding region last week.
The NWS released data yesterday showing photographs of damage tracks with videos captured by law enforcement and spotters of funnels and cloud rotations. Three of the tornadoes reached EF-3 strength with wind speeds up to 165 miles-per-hour, causing more than 100 injuries and one death.
The NWS said the May 27th storm activity was the most active day in the state since July 12th, 1992 when 28 tornadoes were confirmed.
