A Few Setbacks in Demolition of Former Mansfield YMCA Building

Mansfield’s Codes and Permits manager, Marc Milliron, says there have been a few setbacks in the demolition of the former Mansfield YMCA building at 455 Park Avenue West. RichlandSource.com reports the setbacks include: the asbestos abatement being miss diagnosed, a cold and wet winter, along with the building being more structurally sound than anticipated.

Page Excavating is handling the work, which got started back in the middle of December. The exact date when the project will be complete is not known as this time. Back in August, the city moved $500,000 from the PRIDE Tax fund into the demolition fund, to help with the cost of tearing down the YMCA.
