Shelby Could Build New School Building at No Cost to Taxpayers
Shelby schools could still possibly build a new Pre K through 8th grade building, despite failing three times at the ballot. RichlandSource.com reports the district could use revenue from the Rover pipeline to help, which would not cost anything to taxpayers.
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has Shelby on a list of 7 possible schools to receive funding when it’s available. The Ohio Facilities Commission would fund half of the project, while Shelby needs to be able to come up with the other half of the $33.6 million, which is $16.8million. It should be known in the months ahead if Shelby will be chosen to receive the funding for the project.
