UH Breaks Ground on State-of-the-Art Health Center in Madison Township
University Hospitals broke ground Wednesday on a $17 million state-of-the-art outpatient health center in Madison Township, with a projected completion date of spring 2020.
The new 30,000-square-foot UH Samaritan Richland Health Center will house an urgent care in addition to several other services. The building, located at 1033 Ashland Road, offers easy access from both State Route 42 and State Route 30.
“The new UH Samaritan Richland Health Center will allow us to meet the increased demand for outpatient services and provide primary and specialty care in Richland County communities,” said Richard A. Hanson, President, UH Community Hospitals Western Region and Ambulatory Care. “The planned new construction exemplifies our commitment to improving access to the highest quality care in an efficient patient-centered environment.”
Services on the first floor of the building will include an urgent care, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy and community space for educational needs, including screenings. The second floor will have office suites for specialists and primary care physicians.
“We welcome University Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for significant and positive investments that will keep our community vibrant and healthy,” said Richland County Commissioner, Darrell Banks. “As one of the most forward-thinking health care systems in the country, University Hospitals will provide extraordinary benefits to our community for years to come.”
“Residents in Madison and Mifflin Townships and surrounding Richland and Ashland County communities will have greater access to medical treatment, closer to home,” added Karen McNeil, President, UH Samaritan Medical Center. “We are excited about expanding into this area. Not only will it improve our patients’ access to quality health care, but it also creates job opportunities for the community.”
