Commissioners Hire a New Dog Warden for Richland County

Dane A. Howard has been tabbed by the Richland County Commissioners to serve as the county’s new Dog Warden (effective Thursday, March 7). Dane brings to Richland an extremely diverse law enforcement background spanning more than 30 years, which includes 8 years serving as the Sheriff of Huron County from 2009-2017. Dane presently works for the Richland County’s Sheriff’s Department as their Property Room Manager inside the Sheriff’s Crime Lab. Dane’s experience as a K-9 Officer and high level manager overseeing multi-million dollar budgets made the commissioners’ selection an easy one. His unique experience along with his current status as a County employee will make Richland’s transition to a new Dog Warden a seamless one.
