Ashland Tied for Second Most Affordable Conservative College Town in Nation
Ashland, Ohio, home of Ashland University,has been listed as the second most affordable conservative college town in the nation as ranked by College Values Online (CVO).
Ashland was ranked as tied for second behind Atchison, Kansas, and tied with Steubenville, Ohio, in the ranking of the 30 Most Affordable Conservative College Towns.
“We are very proud to hear that Ashland, Ohio, is listed as the second most affordable conservative college town in the country,” said Ashland University President Dr. Carlos Campo. “This recognition emphasizes our commitment to affordability and access. In addition, the ranking highlights that our values are a key component of an Ashland education.”
Campo also noted that Ashland University realizes that the vibrancy and involvement of the local community is directly tied to Ashland University’s enrollment and retention growth.
The CVO staff considered a number of factors in determining the ranking, including political affiliation. The staff then evaluated those areas based on costs for housing, food, healthcare, transportation, utilities and entertainment, and compared those to the national average.
