A murder trial got underway in Mansfield on Thursday for 23 year old Deshawn Dowdell, who is accused in the shooting death of 19 year old Terrence Harris last spring. RichlandSource.com reports, Dowdell’s attorney said there was no DNA evidence or fingerprints, of his client, on the bullets. The prosecuting attorney said that witnesses put the defendant at the scene of the murder.
Deshawn Dowdell was taken into custody by Mansfield Police last September when he fell through the ceiling inside his apartment when cops showed up with a search warrant. Authorities found two handguns, over 2 pounds of suspected heroin / fentanyl, plus cash and other drug paraphernalia.
