Ashland University’s Accounting Program Ranked Second Best in Ohio

Ashland University’s accredited degree program in accounting has been ranked as the second best program in Ohio and ranked as a “Best Value for the Money” program in the annual nationwide ranking of U.S. colleges and universities by College Factual.

In addition, the Ashland University accounting program was ranked as the 41st program out of the 601 ranked programs at colleges and universities nationwide.

“I am very pleased that our accredited accounting program is ranked as the second best program in the state of Ohio and is also recognized as a ‘Best Value for the Money’ program because of its ranking in the top 10 percent of all programs in the country,” said Dr. Elad Granot, dean of AU’s Dauch College of Business and Economics. “This is a tribute to and reflection of the hard work and dedication of the outstanding faculty and administrators who make up the accounting program here at AU.”

Ashland’s accounting program offers a cost-conscious accelerated degree option that allows accounting majors to complete both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in five years or less.

“This program is designed to allow undergraduates to complete their coursework for a bachelor’s degree in accounting in a little over three years,” said Dr. Victoria Kaskey, chair of the accounting and information systems department. “Students combine bachelor’s- and master’s-level courses in their fourth year and then finish their MBA in their fifth year. As MBA students, they have the option to take some of their graduate courses online or in a flexible hybrid format.”

College Factual’s Best Accounting Schools for the Money ranking takes into account the average yearly cost of the school, the average time students take to graduate and the quality the school provides to students, according to Bill Phelan, co-founder and CEO of College Factual. “These rankings were created to help give students vital information to aid them in choosing a degree. Schools that rank highly are offering a good value for the money for accounting graduates,” Phelan said.
