The city of Shelby’s says it will ration its salt supply and implement a strategic salting policy for the rest of winter.Mayor Steve Schag told RichlandSource.com, “Extreme weather events have depleted the salt in the city’s salt bin to about one-fourth full. Also, salt supplies have gone down and prices have gone up.Bridges, curves, intersections, inclines and railroad crossings will get priority for salting. The city urges drivers to use caution and allow extra time when traveling.
