Richland County Drug & Rentry Courts earn state certification

The Richland County Common Pleas Substance Abuse Drug Court and Re–Entry Court programs have earned final certification from the Ohio Supreme Court’s Commission on Specialized Dockets.

Courts that receive this distinction are those that deal with specific types of offenders. The Richland County Drug Court deals with low level offenders who may have issues involving drugs and alcohol.           The Richland County Re-Entry Court helps those who are released from prison get reintegrated into society.

“Specialized dockets divert offenders toward criminal justice initiatives that employ tools and tailored services to treat and rehabilitate the offender, so they can become productive members of society,” said Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor.

Both courts went through a review of their program curriculum, along with a site visit in order to receive this certification.
