Huntington National Bank awarded Ashland University a $20,000 grant for low-to-moderate income students. The Huntington Bank's Scholarship grant provides 10 Ashland University students with $2,000 each. These scholarships will be awarded based on financial eligibility and a secondary preference will be to include business, finance and accounting majors among the awardees.
“This gift is very timely and deeply appreciated. Eighty-eight percent of AU students receive some sort of gift aid in order to attend Ashland University,” Dr. Campo said. “Huntington Bank has supported Ashland students for more than three decades and we are extremely grateful for that.”
On Wednesday, Oct. 24, AU President Dr. Carlos Campo; Ashland Mayor Matt Miller, a 1999 graduate of AU; and AU Trustee Robert Archer met with Steve Steinour, president, chairman and CEO of Huntington, and William Shivers, regional president of Canton and Mahoning Valley Regions for Huntington, on the AU campus to thank them for the grant and provide them with an update of campus events as well as a campus tour.
