On November 6th, Ashland residents will vote on an amendment that would give city council the authority to join the city’s health board with the county’s.
This could cause changes in the way tax money is dispersed since the city will no longer pay for county health services.
According to Richland Source, Ashland County-City Health Department commissioner Sarah Goodwill Humphrey said while she does not take a position on the city's charter amendment, she believes having a single general health district in the county would improve administrative efficiency for the health department's jurisdiction.
