If you live in Shelby, but work outside of the city limits, you may receive a break on your income taxes. Shelby City Council is in the process of passing an ordinance that would increase the tax credit that applies to city income taxes for Shelby residents who work in a different community. If the legislation is passed, the credit would increase from 67 percent to 75 percent.
