The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle crash on Trimble Rd and SR 39 in Madison Twp. The crash occurred on September 26, 2018 at approximately 1:35 PM.
A blue 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Nathaniel C. Doup, age 23, of Mansfield Ohio, and a red 2000 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jennith G. Hargis, age 69, of Nevada Ohio. were both traveling northbound on Trimble Rd at the intersection of SR 39. Both the Pontiac G6 and Chevrolet Blazer were in the left turn lane to travel northwest on SR 39 when a yellow 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Earl A. Daniel, age 41, of Mansfield was traveling southbound on Trimble Rd.
The blue G6 turned left and was struck by the yellow Cobalt. The yellow Cobalt then rotated and struck the red Blazer, forcing it to overturn. The blue G6 and yellow Cobalt rotated and came to rest in the roadways.
Mr. Daniel was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield where he succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Hargis was also transported to Ohio Health Mansfield where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Doup suffered no injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation at this time and alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor. Seatbelt usage is also under investigation.
