An Ashland business man came in as the highest bidder this week for the former Ashland middle school property, which is located on Cottage Street. RichlandSource.com reports, Bill Chandler, who is the owner of Chandler Systems, a water treatment products company, had a bid of $165,000 for the three parcels of land. Before anything can be official, the Ashland School board will need to accept the bid at its next meeting. Chandler says he plans to sit down with county and church leaders to talk about the future plans for the property.
