New Shelby Fire Station to Open in October or Early November

The city of Shelby’s new fire station is about complete and looks to be ready by sometime this fall.  The Shelby fire department is currently raising money to furnish the inside of the station and hopes to reach $100,000. Right now they are at over $80,000 raised with expectations to open the new fire station in late October or Early November.  The new fire station is on High School Avenue and was built thanks to a donation by business man Grant Milliron.  The old Shelby Fire House was built in the late 1870’s and is one of the oldest in the country.
