CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League roster:
Activated INF JOSH DONALDSON (#27) from the 10-day Disabled List.
Donaldson, 32, was placed on the 10-day D.L. on September 3 (retroactive to Sept. 1) with a left calf strain. He appeared in four games over the past week with AAA Columbus and AA Akron, going 3-for-12 with 2 homers and 6 RBI prior to today’s activation. This season, the Daphne, Alabama native has been limited to 36 games between three D.L. trips, batting .234 (32-for-137) with 11 doubles, 5 home runs and 16 RBI for the Blue Jays prior to being acquired by Cleveland on August 31. He is scheduled to make his Cleveland debut tonight in St. Petersburg against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Cleveland’s Major League roster consists of 33 players.
