The Mansfield Police Department added another officer to its force on Tuesday. Robert Whitcomb was sworn-in as the 80th member of the Mansfield Police Department. Whitcomb has recently spent time with the New Washington Police Department. Mansfield Police Chief Ken Coontz told WMAN they are getting closer to reaching a full staff, which is 86 officers. Coontz said he hopes hire 2 more officers to the Department in the next 2 to 3 weeks.
