Madison Township to get New Fire Truck

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown has announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $50,000 Community Facilities grant to the Madison Township Fire Department to purchase a new fire truck. The USDA is also awarding a $381,000 Community Facilities loan to purchase the vehicle, bringing the total USDA funds available to $431,000. This vehicle will help the Madison Township Fire Department provide emergency services to more than 11,000 residents.

“Ohio firefighters and first-responders work every day to protect our families,” said Brown. “This investment will ensure the Madison Township Fire Department has the resources it needs to keep its residents safe.”

The funds for this new vehicle are a part of the USDA’s Rural Development initiative. Brown helped secure a strong Rural Development title in the 2014 Farm Bill, and is continuing to advocate for Rural Development programs in the 2018 Farm Bill.
