Mansfield Law Director Pushing for Animal Control Officer

Mansfield Law Director John Spon once again is pushing for the city to create an animal control officer.  This comes after details were shared at this week’s city council meeting about a 3 year old being attacked by a Pit Bull. Councilman Cliff Mears says the incident took place on Bartley Ave back on June 7th, which saw the dog tear the boys’ cheek off in a scary scene. Cliff Mears says according to Ohio Code, the Richland County Dog Warden is supposed to in charge of controlling vicious and dangerous dogs, but many feel that is not happening. Mears says, the next step is to sit down with the Richland County Commissioners to figure out the next move and hope to have more on this in two weeks.
