New History Book Released - Book Kayaking Tour

Newly released book “Pleasant Hill Lake Park, Making Memories, 1938-2018 and Beyond.” The book, co-authored by park naturalist Louis Andres and retired journalist Irv Oslin, will be released at Pleasant Hill Lake Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018. The official release will be in conjunction with Ohio History Day at the park. Copies will be available for $10.00 day of the event and the camp store all season. Described as a casual history in a scrapbook format, the book commemorates the 50th anniversary of the completion of Pleasant Hill Dam, at how the park, the lake and Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District land around the lake touched people’s lives and how they influenced its evolution, especially from 1946 to the present. This book was made possible through a grant from the RichHistory Alliance and the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation. On Sunday, June 24th, 2018 from 9:30am-11am the Hidden History Kayak Tour led by the authors will explore the hidden history under the waters of Pleasant Hill Lake. Kayak tour led by Irv Oslin and Louis Andres, co-authors of the new book about the 80-year history of the park and the local community. Bring your own equipment or borrow ours.  Boat, paddle, and life jacket, provided. Meet at the beach area. Ages: 12 years & older. Cost $25/person or $15/person with your own kayak.
