Mansfield City Council Passes Raise in Vehicle Registration

Mansfield City Council unanimously passed the proposed $5 raise in motor vehicle registration, which will go into effect in January of 2019. The money collected will go for street repairs that has been coming out of the general fund. The general fund money would then go into the fund to help revitalize downtown Mansfield. Councilman Cliff Mears says an advisory board of 7 people, along with Mansfield mayor Tim Theaker, has been approved to determine the projects. The bump in cost will raise about $220,000 per year and $2.6 million over 12 years.
