Former Band Director Pleads Guilty to Gross Sexual Imposition
Shelby‘s former band director Benjamin Hyun, who was arrested on a rape charge last fall, plead guilty to gross sexual imposition this week. Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop told WMAN News, the female victim did not want to go to trial and chose to a plea bargain charge of gross sexual imposition. Benjamin Hyun is looking at up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000. Hyun also must register as a sex offender for the next 15 years. The incident took place during the early morning hours of November 21st, 2017 in Ontario.
