Ashland Officials Begin Talks About County Dispatch Center
Ashland officials have begun talks to see if it’s possible to get Ashland to rejoin the Ashland County 9-1-1 dispatch Center. Right now, Ashland is Part of the Wooster, Ashland Regional Dispatch Center and so calls are taken out of the area. Ashland mayor Matt Miller and city councilmen made the trip to Wooster to tour the current facility. RichlandSource.com reports, Ashland County Sheriff Wayne Riser was not impressed by the Regional Dispatch Center. Ashland city councilman Steve Workman said the idea of the Regional Dispatch Center was to save money and increase safety, but so far has not done either.
