The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the 25-man Major League roster:
Selected the contract of LHP JEFF BELIVEAU (#38) from Triple-A Columbus.
Placed LHP ANDREW MILLER on the 10-day Disabled List (left hamstring strain).
40-man move TBD.
Beliveau, 31, has spent the month of April in Columbus, posting 8.2 scoreless innings, limiting batters to a .071 (2/28) average against while fanning 14 Triple-A hitters (8.2IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 14SO). He has yet to allow a hit to a left-handed batter in 11 at bats (7 SO). The Warwick, RI native was signed in November 2017 and was a non-roster to Major League camp this spring.
Miller was injured in the 7th inning of last night’s 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. He has yet to allow a run over 11 appearances/10.0 innings in 2018.
