The 2018 Wendy’s Spring Classic Softball Tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, at Brookside Park in Ashland. Four local teams: Ashland, Hillsdale, Loudonville and Madison makeup part of the 24 team field. The others come from Ohio, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and Indiana. Each year the Wendy’s Spring Classic gives out $1,000 scholarships to 6 or 7 Ashland-area high school softball players. Since 1994, the Wendy’s Spring Classic has handed out over $107,500 in college scholarships.
