What To Do with Shelby’s Historic Fire Station

The city of Shelby is building a new fire station thanks to a generous donation from business man Grant Milliron. The question now is, what to do with the old one??  RichlandSource.com reports the old Shelby Fire House was built in 1872 and is one of the oldest in the country. Some want to keep it as a historic site, but because it sits in the flood plain, it must to meet certain regulations. The cost to tear it down would be between $10,000 - $15,000. A town hall meeting will take place in the near future to have public discussion about the historic fire house.
