Former Pentagon Official to Speak in Mansfield

 The College Republicans at The Ohio State University at Mansfield and North Central State College campus present “Understanding the Middle East and Terrorism: An Evening with Former Pentagon Iran/Iraq Staff Advisor and Middle East Expert Michael Rubin.”

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in room 151 Riedl Hall, Conard Performance Hall, 1760 University Drive, Mansfield, OH 44906.

Rubin is a former Pentagon official who earned his Ph.D. in history from Yale University.  His research areas are the Middle East, Turkey, and Iran. Rubin teaches senior military officers leadership before their deployment to Iraq, the Persian Gulf, and Afghanistan.

His newest book “Dancing with the Devil: The Perils of Engaging Rogue Regimes” examines a half century of U.S. diplomacy with rogue regimes and terrorist groups.  He will additionally address the current situation as it relates to North Korea.

The event is free and open to the public.  A reception with light snacks and refreshments will be held following the event.
