Ontario Residents Water and Sewer Rates Going Up

Ontario residents will see water and sewer rates go up this year, after City Council approved the increase at Wednesday night’s meeting.  Water rates will go up 3%, while sewer will soar up to a 20% increase.  The large hike is due to the contract that Ontario agreed to nearly 4 years ago with the city of Mansfield.  Ontario Service Safety Director Jeff Wilson told RichlandSource.com it’s a 10% increase in April and 10% in October.  Ontario does not have a water treatment plant, but there has been some talk about building one.

The city of Ontario is making the change from quarterly to monthly water bills The change will begin in April, which then will show up on the May bill.
