Ontario City Council Passes Budget, Will Donate $5,000 to RCT

Ontario City Council voted this week and will donate $5,000 to Richland County Transit. The vote was 5 yes and 2 no, to include the money in the 2018 budget.

Last fall, Richland County commissioner Tony Vero asked Ontario City Council to donate $10,000 to Richland County Transit. Vero mentioned a lot of riders come into Ontario and spend money at businesses, which benefits the city of Ontario. Mansfield through a grant gives RCT $57,000 a year and Shelby over $6,100.

 Ontario City Council did pass its 2018 budget, which was just under $13 million.
