Mapleton Superintendent Will Not Be Back Next Year

Mapleton Schools Superintendent Rodney Hopton will not be back next year and will resign once his contract runs out this summer. RichlandSource.com reports that Hopton’s reason for leaving is to pursue other opportunities. The Mapleton School Board accepted Hopton’s resignation on Monday and will begin a search soon for a new Superintendent. The board will not hire anyone to help in the search and will take applications for the job for about a month.
