Richland County Dog Shelter Honored for Being No Kill Shelter
The Richland County dog shelter was highlighted Wednesday morning for being a no kill shelter for the last 5 years. Commissioner Marilyn John told WMAN that prior to 2012 the shelter was putting down around 200 dogs a month. The Richland County dog shelter last year alone rescued between 900- 1,000 dogs. John says the credit goes to Dog Warden Dave Jordan and his staff for their work they have done to find homes for the dogs they rescue.
