Cleveland Indians To Remove Chief Wahoo After 2018

Chief Wahoo is going into retirement. The Cleveland Indians announced today their controversial smiling Indian logo is being removed from team uniforms next year. It's drawn criticism and lawsuits from Native American groups who consider it racist. Chief Wahoo in one form or another has been worn on Indians uniforms since 1947.  Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has been a vocal critic of the logo.
