No RCT Money in Ontario 2018 Budget

Last fall, Richland County commissioner Tony Vero asked Ontario City Council to donate $10,000 to Richland County Transit.

Vero mentioned a lot of riders come into Ontario and spend money at businesses, which benefits the city of Ontario. He was hoping they would contribute to RCT like many other area cities, which includes Mansfield and Shelby.

Ontario City Council does not have any money to RCT in its proposed 2018 budget.  Mansfield through a grant gives RCT $57,000 a year and Shelby over $6,100. Ontario is not able to secure a grant like that and wants to see ridership data of people using it in the retail area. Right now council woman Michelle Webb told RichlandSource.com that Ontario only sees numbers for riders going to the college.
