Clear Fork to Honor Graduate Killed in Vietnam

A veteran’s day celebration will take place next week at Clear Fork High school to honor Steve Smith, who was killed in the Vietnam War back in 1968.  Randy Echelberger is a Social Studies teacher at Clear Fork and has been organizing the celebration.

Echelberger says Smith is the only graduate of Clear Fork High School to die during a war. This April will mark the 50th year since Smith died at the age of 20 back in the late 60’s.  The ceremony will take place in the Clear Fork High school gym at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 9th.
