Richland County Children Services Files Lawsuit

Richland County Children Services has filed a lawsuit against drug companies and 4 doctors, claiming the prescription drug companies mislead the public about the dangers of opioids, which allowed them to sell more painkillers and make huge profits.

RichlandSource.com reports that the lawsuit is asking for more than $25,000, as Richland County Children Services had seen the number of kids in its care double since 2011, due to opioids.  The cost of child care placement has gone from nearly $568,000 in 2011 to $1.4 million in 2016.
