Major Drug Sweep In Mansfield Wednesday Morning


Mansfield Police, METRICH, The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Agency conducted multiple drug sweeps Wednesday  morning.  Mansfield Police Chief, Kenneth Coontz, in a press release, stated approximately 40 people were arrested in the pre dawn hours, for trafficking heroin and other drugs. Federal indictments  are expected.  WMAN listeners reported helicopters circling parts of the city, including the Woodland area.  Multiple emergency and police vehicles were  reported by citizens on Diamond Street, Flint Street, and Crescent Road. Law enforcement agencies involved will speak to the media, Wednesdday at 11am.
