AU Football Ranked 13th In Division II Poll

Ashland University's football team continues to climb the ladder in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

In the latest edition of the poll, released on Monday (Oct. 16) afternoon, the Eagles moved up three spots to No. 13. That comes on the heels of a sixth consecutive win, a 48-0 decision over Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon in Ashland's 94th Homecoming game.

Ashland is 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, tied for first in the league with No. 7-ranked Grand Valley State (6-1, 5-0).

Since the inception of the AFCA poll in 2000, the Eagles have been ranked 63 times. In 2016, Ashland went the entire season in the Top 25 for the first time.

The Eagles are 39-16 (.709) all-time as an AFCA Top 25 team.

Three GLIAC teams once again are in the poll – Ashland, GVSU and Ferris State (No. 12, 5-1, 4-1).

Ashland will go back on the road on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 1 p.m. to continue GLIAC play vs. Tiffin (5-2, 4-1).
