Shelby Building New Fire Station Thanks to Grant Milliron

The city of Shelby is building a new fire station thanks to business man Grant Milliron.  The new fire station will be constructed on High School Avenue and should be complete by next summer. Milliron said that he first thought about the idea of a new fire station in Shelby, after the department responded to a fire, years ago, at his facility.

The donation by Milliron will give the city of Shelby a much needed new station. RichlandSource.com reports the old Shelby Fire House was built in the late 1870’s and is one of the oldest in the country.
