Ashland University's Football #18 in Top 25 Poll

Following a fourth consecutive win to complete an undefeated month of September, Ashland University's football team moved up two spots to No. 18 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Monday (Oct. 2).

The Eagles, ranked No. 20 in last week's poll, defeated Davenport on the road, 38-0, on Saturday (Sept. 30) afternoon - recording their first road shutout since Nov. 12, 1994 (43-0 at St. Francis). Ashland is 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and is one of three GLIAC teams still undefeated in league play, along with No. 8-ranked Grand Valley State (4-0) and Tiffin (3-0).

Since the inception of the AFCA poll in 2000, Ashland has been ranked 61 times. In 2016, the Eagles went the entire season in the Top 25 for the first time.

The Eagles are 37-16 (.698) all-time as an AFCA Top 25 team.

Ashland is one of three GLIAC teams in the latest AFCA Coaches' poll, along with GVSU and Ferris State (No. 15).

The Eagles continue their stretch of four road games in a five-week period on Saturday (Oct. 7) at 1 p.m. at Northern Michigan (1-3, 1-2).
