Cleveland Indians Win Game 100

The CLEVELAND INDIANS reached the 100-win mark for just the third time in franchise history with a  5-2 win over the Twins on Thursday. (also 1954 – 111 wins; and 1995 – 100 wins), Cleveland has matched the record for wins by an AL Central team since the division was created in 1994 (set by the 1995 Indians)…marked the Tribe’s 10th consecutive series win (dating back to August 25), extending their franchise record…the Indians staff also recorded 15 strikeouts, as they notched their MLB-record 90th double-digit performance.

·          CARLOS CARRASCO finishes the regular season with a 18-6 record, setting a new career-high in wins…additionally, Carrasco improves to 12-2 against the AL Central with a 1.94 ERA (23ER/106.2IP), the lowest intradivisional ERA by an Indians pitcher since re-alignment in 1994 (min. 80.0IP)…he ends the season at exactly 200.0 innings pitched, a new career-best.

Carrasco finishes his 2017 regular-season campaign with 226 strikeouts, marking a new career-high (previously 216 in 2015…Carrasco and Corey Kluber are just the second pair of Indians pitchers to reach 220 strikeouts in a season (Luis Tiant and Sam McDowell in 1968).

FRANCISCO LINDOR’s 81 extra-base hits are the most in club history by a shortstop, and are the most by any shortstop in MLB since Hanley Ramirez and Jimmy Rollins each reached the mark in 2007.

Lindor is also the second Indians batter to reach 80 extra-base hits this season, joining Jose Ramirez (88)…they are the fourth pair of Indians teammates to reach the milestone, and the first since Manny Ramirez and Albert Belle did so in 1996 (Hal Trosky and Earl Averill achieved the feat in 1934 and 1936).

21st consecutive win
