Before Ashland City Council left for a month long summer break (Tuesday) , they gave approval for a tax abatement plan submitted by The Barbasol Company.
Councilman at large, Matt Miller, told WMAN news Barbasol is looking for a 75 percent reduction in real property tax for 15 years, to expand their brand by selling razors. A 70,000 square foot facility would be built to package a variety of shaving razors and blades.
Abatement approval has also been given by Ashland City Schools and the Ashland-West Holmes Career Center. Final approval must also come from the Ashland County commissioners.
The nation's biggest name in shaving cream employs 78 workers at the Ashland Industrial park.
