The joint law enforcement dispatching computer network that serves the Ashland and Wooster police and fire departments has been hacked.
Richland Source Dot Com reports the center issued a press release saying the FBI informed the Wooster Ashland Regional Council Of Governments of the breach last week. The FBI said the breach took place on June 26th and more than 200-thousand records were compromised. The FBI is investigating the case since it is a Federal Offense. The Ashland County Sheriff's Office operates its own 911 dispatch center and was not affected by the hack.
