Kluber Ties Bob Feller with 4th consecutive 10K Game
The CLEVELAND INDIANS closed out a series win over the Texas Rangers on Thursday with a 5-1 win.
COREY KLUBER improved to 7-2 after tossing 8 dominant innings, allowing just one run on three hits with 12 strikeouts…marked Kluber’s 30th career double-digit strikeout performance, as well as his fourth consecutive outing with at least 10 punchouts.
Kluber struck out 10-or-more batters for his fourth consecutive start, equaling the club record set by Bob Feller (9/23/1938 – 4/21/1939)…becomes the first pitcher in franchise history to achieve the feat within the same season…Kluber is one of three pitchers in MLB this season (Chris Sale & Max Scherzer) to record a 10+K streak of at least four starts.
Kluber also extended his franchise record to 13 consecutive home starts with at least seven strikeouts (also the longest active streak in MLB).
Kluber’s 12th and final strikeout of the afternoon gave him 1,041 punchouts in his career, moving him into a tie with Luis Tiant for 10th place on the all-time Indians franchise leaderboard.
