Double Preliminary Winner Takes the Miss Ohio Title

Sarah Clapper won the Miss Ohio Title Saturday in Mansfield, Ohio.  Pageant events have been centered around the Renaissance Theater all week.  Clapper did something rarely seen during the competition, winning a swimsuit (fitness) preliminary award on Thursday night, and following it up with a talent win on Friday. Clapper worked her way through all phases of competition on Saturday, moving from the Top 10 to the eventual winner.

The 22 year old from Louisville , Ohio returned to Mansfield for the 5th time to compete for the crown.  She was Miss Clayland coming into the contest, and in previous years had been Miss Mansfield.  Clapper works in Columbus for an Architecture group.  She graduated with a degree in Architecture in 2016 from Ohio State University.  For her talent, Clapper played the piano.  The selection was a twist on the  old standard "Chop Sticks", titled "White Water Chopsticks".  Sarah wore a 2 piece emerald green swimsuit during the fitness competition.

Clapper will advance to the Miss  America  Pageant in Atlantic City, the week of September 5th, with the finals on Sunday, September  10th.

Miss Miami Valley, Karolina Ulasevich was the first runner-up.  Miss Akron-Cantom, Matti-Lynn Christmas was the second runner-up.  Third runner-up was Miss Montgomery County, Hannah Zimmerman, and Miss Northwestern, Amelia Hitchins finished as the fourth runner-up.

Paige Wiers, of Willard, and Madeline Carter, of Mansfield, both finished in the top 10.
