Ashland Theological Seminary Names Dean and Chief Academic Officer

After an exhaustive national search, Ashland Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Mignon R. Jacobs, Ph.D. has accepted the invitation to become the Dean and Chief Academic Officer of Ashland Theological Seminary.  She will also hold the title of Professor of Old Testament Studies. 


“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Jacobs become a member of our seminary family. She brings a wealth of academic and leadership experience to this new role. As the Dean and Chief Academic Officer, she will provide leadership for academic affairs, faculty, and administrative oversight of the Columbus Center location,” stated Dr. Mark Harden, President of Ashland Theological Seminary.

As a recognized professor and noted scholar, Dr. Jacobs brings her expertise and a strong reputation in regional and theological accreditation, and solid academic administration from Fuller Theological Seminary. 

She also serves on the Association of Theological Schools' Board of Commissioners.“I am humbled and honored to join the ATS community as Dean and Chief Academic Officer.

 It is an awesome responsibility to partner with faculty, administrators, staff and students in our call and institutional mission. I look forward to our journey together as we explore innovative ways of equipping men and women for ministry in the church and the world,” stated Dr. Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs comes to the seminary with enthusiasm and strong support of the faculty. 

She will start her new responsibilities on July 1, 2017.
