INDIANS PROMOTE RHP NICK GOODY FROM COLUMBUS; OPTION RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG TO AAA

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2017 Major League roster:

Recalled RHP NICK GOODY (#44) from Triple-A Columbus. Optioned RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG to AAA Columbus.

Goody, 25, began the year in Columbus, posting 4.1 scoreless innings over three relief appearance for the Clippers (4.1IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 10SO, . 133 avg). He has fanned 10 of the 17 batters he has faced at Triple-A and right-handed hitters are hitless in 8 at bats. The Orlando, FL native was acquired in December from the New York Yankees and posted an ERA of 0.90 in 10 spring relief outings (10.0IP, 4H, 1R/ER, 3BB, 11SO, .129 avg).

Armstrong opened the season on the Major League roster and posted an ERA of 8.44 in 4 relief appearances (5ER/5.1IP).
