Mansfield City Council discusses Pit Bull problems

Mansfield City Council spent part of its meeting this week talking about the pit bull problems in the city. Law Director John Spon says there are about 13,000 dogs in Mansfield and 2,000 of them are some type of pit bull, which are banned in Mansfield.

The question has came up about hiring an animal control officer for the city, but Councilman Cliff Mears says there is no money for it in the budget.

The one idea is to train police officers to give the city 24/7 coverage.
